It seems that we've forgotten that a Catholic funeral Mass is not a "celebration of life," but a time to pray for the soul of the recently departed, and in this case that soul is Sen. Kennedy.
Jesus Christ is truly present in the tabernacles of the world. Why don't we visit him more? I suppose when we get comfy we forget that we need our Lord just to breath each day...I've been anxious and stressed with new work responsibilities and I worry I can't do it...but I've been visiting Jesus during my lunch hour and he gives me his strength and wisdom. If there is a Catholic Church near your work, go visit him for a short while during your break, tell him you love him!!
Reading St. Jose Maria Escriva in the blessed sacrament chapel of a California parish; a way of thanking the Lord for his help this week. Friday isn't just the end of the work week, it's also a day of penance and reflection on our Lord's Passion.
We remember dear Lord, that it was on a Friday that you gave up your life for each one of us. Thank you dear Lord. And before you did, you gave us your Mother, so we could have a protector in heaven always. Thank you! Thank you!
It seems that Web 2.0 folks aren't always that comfortable with religion and Christianity in general. This is certainly a generalization, but it seems to be a fair statement. I wish that more of these smart, creative people could experience the grace and love of God. I think in many ways President Obama was elected because he was so good as using the web and social media networks for reaching out to his supporters.
It will be nice to post messages with this new microblogging platform. It will give us a chance at Catholic Hope to explore more social media avenues. We're happy to be here!
